A law firm that AI assistants could not read

Eisenstein Legal handles property insurance claims in Florida. Their server was turning away the crawlers of ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity, and their sitemap sent Google to 107 addresses, most of them tag, category and author pages. We found the block, guided the firm's move to new hosting, and did the rest on their own WordPress site, without rebuilding it.

The problem

Eisenstein Legal came to us asking for an SEO audit. The site looked fine to a visitor, but the AI assistants people now ask for recommendations could not get in.

AI assistants were blocked at the door. The server on their previous hosting rejected the crawlers of ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity, so those crawlers could not read the site. On top of that, the sitemap sent Google to 107 addresses when the site had about 32 real pages and articles, the structured data described only a generic organization (name, logo and phone), not a law firm or its attorneys, page titles repeated the firm's name twice, and 39 of 47 images had no description.

What we did

We worked on the WordPress site they already had. No rebuild and no new platform to learn: they keep publishing exactly as before.

  • Diagnosed the AI block and proved it. We tested each crawler one by one and documented which ones were rejected. When the old host had not fixed it, the firm decided to move to new hosting; we guided the move step by step and verified that those crawlers can now read the site.
  • Told Google and AI assistants who they are. Structured data for the firm, both attorneys, the areas they serve, their FAQs and their articles, plus an llms.txt file: a plain summary of the site written for AI assistants.
  • Cleaned up the basics. A clear title and description for the main pages, a short description on every image of those pages, and a sitemap trimmed to the pages that matter, submitted to Google and Bing.
  • A homepage that answers questions. A new headline, a Service Areas section that includes the Florida Panhandle, four of their Google reviews word for word, eight FAQs and their latest articles. Plus updated Residential and Commercial pages and a new page for Hurricane Isaias claims.
  • Google Business Profile. Main category, 20 service areas, a new description and 24 services, 12 in English and 12 in Spanish.

The result

5 of 5main AI crawlers can now read the site; all were blocked before the hosting move
100/100on our AI-readiness check of 20 pages, October 20, 2026
107 → 35URLs in the sitemap after the cleanup: no more tag or author pages

The site went from blocked to readable for the main AI crawlers, and it now tells Google and AI assistants who the firm is, what it handles and where it works. Rankings and AI mentions take time — weeks for Google, usually two to three months for AI assistants — so we measure them at 30, 60 and 90 days against the starting point, and report what actually changed.

Can AI assistants read your site?

Our SEO, GEO & AEO audit tests it page by page and shows you what is blocking you. The audit is free and you keep the report.
