A barber who stopped running his calendar by hand
Tuvi cuts hair at his clients' homes in Orlando. Every appointment used to go through him — messages, times, last-minute changes. Now his clients book on their own from the website, even while he is working.
The problem
An independent barber who travels to his clients lives off his calendar. Tuvi's lived in his phone: every appointment started with a message, continued with a back-and-forth to agree on a time, and sometimes ended in a last-minute change that had to be negotiated all over again.
That time came straight out of his working day. While he was cutting he could not reply, and while he was replying he was not cutting. He also had nowhere to send a new client: no services, no prices, no photos, and no way to book without talking to him first.
What we built
A four-page site, bilingual from the ground up (English and Spanish, not translated afterwards), designed for the phone because that is where his clients are.
- Real booking, not a contact form. The client sees the open slots in his calendar and picks one. Four services set up with their own duration and price.
- A brand from scratch. He had no logo, so we made him one — a barber pole built into the name, over an animated copper background.
- Built for mobile. You swipe between pages, the site opens in the language of the visitor's phone without asking, and the animation work was tuned so it stays smooth on an ordinary handset.
- He owns his calendar. He sets his hours and days off from a single dashboard, and the website follows.
The result
What changed is not that he has a website: it is that he stopped being the middleman for his own calendar. A new client arrives, sees what he does and what it costs, picks a slot and books — without writing to him.
Since I started working with AUGRO I've noticed a big difference, especially with the booking system. Before, I had to spend far more time answering messages and coordinating appointments. Now clients can simply visit the website, check my availability and book an appointment on their own. That saves me a lot of time and lets me take bookings even when I'm busy working or can't reply to messages. On top of that, I think having a well-designed website gives my business a much more professional image. For new clients it's much easier to find all the information they need, look through my services and book an appointment without having to contact me first. All in all, it has hugely simplified managing my appointments and lets me focus more on my clients instead of constantly organising my schedule.
Does your calendar live in your phone too?
If you lose time arranging appointments over messages, that is the first thing we look at. The diagnostic is free and you keep the report.
